What are the manufacturing processes of mechanical keyboards?
1, laser etching
At present, the penetration rate of mechanical keyboard keycaps is the highest when laser etching, most of the non-backlit keyboard keycaps on the market, are made using this technology. Carved characters can be deep into the bottom of the keycap surface 0.2mm, with convenient processing, wear resistance, long time to use the advantages of the word.
2. Screen printing
Before laser etching became common, most black keyboards were made using a screen printing process. Even now, some keyboard manufacturers, constrained by materials and equipment, still use the screen printing process to create the characters on the surface of the keycaps
3. Hollow characters
Backlit keyboards are most commonly used when counting hollow characters. The keycap itself is made of translucent material. After injection molding, the surface is sprayed with shading material, and then the character position is hollowed-out to expose the original translucent material to light.
4. Two-color injection molding process
In recent years, with the rise of low-cost mechanical keyboards, two-color injection keycaps also began to spread. Bicolor injection molded keycaps are made of two different colored plastic materials, first creating the character part of the keycaps (backlit keyboards usually use translucent materials), and then marking the full shape of the keycaps on the outside.
5. Thermal sublimation technology
In addition to dichromatic injection molding, there is a process that can also achieve fadeless. However, due to technical limitations, this process can only be used on the PBT material keycap, which is the thermal sublimation technology.
